OSISoft PI DataLink is a Microsoft Excel add-in that connects Excel to the PI System, enabling engineers, analysts, and operators to retrieve and analyze real-time and historical operational data directly in spreadsheets. With PI DataLink, users can search for PI tags and asset attributes, pull time-series data and events, perform summaries and calculations, and build refreshable reports and dashboards without custom coding.

Key capabilities:

• Retrieve real-time and historical time-series data (current values, trends, sampled, interpolated, and recorded data)
• Calculate summaries and statistics (such as averages, minima, maxima, totals, and standard deviations) over specified time ranges
• Query events and batches (Event Frames) for context-rich analysis
• Browse assets and attributes through PI Asset Framework for consistent, asset-centric reporting
• Apply time range filters, time zone alignment, and unit of measure handling within Excel
• Create repeatable, shareable workbooks with on-demand or scheduled data refresh

PI DataLink leverages PI System security and is designed for ad hoc analysis and routine reporting in operations, manufacturing, energy, and utilities. It supports the Windows version of Microsoft Excel and is part of the PI System software suite by OSIsoft.
